The county archives encourages the donation of private collections as a way of creating an enduring memory of life in Glengarry County. Your records will be protected for generations to come and be kept in a secure environment by professional archival staff.
When you donate to the Glengarry County Archives, your story becomes part of the larger narrative of Glengarry. Without your history, we would have no record of our past, no understanding of our present, and no foundation for our future.
Historical records may come in the form of letters, diaries, scrapbooks, business ledgers, photographs, drawings, printed material, maps and plans. Families and individuals, businesses and organizations are important sources of our history, reflecting all aspects of life in Glengarry County, including agriculture, sports, family life, culture, commerce, religion, military and politics, to name but a few.
Should you be interested in placing your records at the archives, please contact the county archivist, Allan J. MacDonald, at 613-209-0202 or glengarrycountyarchives@gmail.com.
Donations of historical material may be eligible for a tax credit.
